Fresh off a landmark legal settlement with the DOJ that gutted the ATF’s Biden-era forced reset trigger ban, Rare Breed Triggers is officially back in production — and blue state gun grabbers are already foaming at the mouth.
FRTs for AR-15s, AK-47s, and MP5s are rolling off the line, and according to company president Lawrence DeMonico, more models are in the final stages of development.
This victory was hard-won through years of litigation, including a decisive federal court ruling in the Northern District of Texas declaring that FRTs are not machine guns — a judgment still standing today.
But anti-gun politicians aren’t taking the loss well.
TXGR and Rare Breed Tossed From Blue State AG Lawsuit
The AGs’ case is a desperate attempt to:
- Relitigate the legality of FRTs (already ruled legal),
- Challenge the DOJ’s own court-approved settlement with Rare Breed,
- And bankrupt the pro-gun forces who exposed the ATF’s abuse.
The court saw through the charade — ruling that the states had no standing to sue TXGR or Rare Breed.
“We already embarrassed them in court with our victory, and they hate it,” said Chris McNutt, President of Texas Gun Rights. “This lawsuit is just a desperate attempt to save face — and the judge saw right through it.”
But while the AGs lost this round, they’ll keep scheming behind the scenes.
Their goal? To find a way — any way — to reclassify FRTs as machine guns and undo the DOJ settlement that forced the federal government to return lawfully owned triggers.
Rare Breed Stands Tall — Despite Attacks
Even if a future administration tries to reverse course, the only final judgment on the books — from Judge Reed O’Connor in the Northern District of Texas — still stands.
And that judgment says FRTs are legal.
TXGR Isn’t Backing Down
“This isn’t just about one trigger,” McNutt warned. “It’s about stopping the Left’s playbook of lawfare, intimidation, and weaponized bureaucracy.”
From challenging the ATF in court to holding weak-kneed Republicans accountable, Texas Gun Rights leads the fight — without compromise.
But staying on offense takes constant vigilance — and financial firepower.
The Left is throwing everything they’ve got: lawsuits, media smears, and deep-pocketed donors.
We’ve got truth, grit, and YOU.

They’re not giving up. And neither are we.
