Texas Gun Rights Clay Shoot to Feature “Who’s Who” of Texas Politics

This Saturday, gun owners from across the Lone Star State will gather in Fort Worth for the Texas Gun Rights (TXGR) Second Annual Clay Shoot Presented by Patriot Mobile — an event that’s quickly becoming a “who’s who” of Texas politics.

Confirmed guests include Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, congressional candidates Briscoe Cain and Brandon Herrera, and invited guests like Congressman Brandon Gill and attorney general hopefuls Chip Roy, Aaron Reitz, Mayes Middleton, and Joan Huffman.

There will also be a strong lineup of state lawmakers, including Rep. Wes Virdell, Rep. Mike Olcott, Rep. Andy Hopper, Rep. Mitch Little, and candidate Cheryl Bean, among others.

Celebrating Big Wins for the Second Amendment

The Clay Shoot isn’t just about pulling triggers on sporting clays. It’s about celebrating major victories Texas Gun Rights and its grassroots members have secured in 2025:

  • Banned red flag laws in Texas.
  • Banned municipal “gun buybacks” that waste taxpayer dollars and disarm citizens.
  • Removed short-barrel firearms from the state prohibited weapons list — laying the groundwork for a federal rollback of the unconstitutional NFA.
  • Ended the foster parent gun registry, restoring basic rights to Texans who care for children.
  • Secured a historic settlement with the DOJ on forced reset triggers, delivering a blow to federal gun control overreach.

Building Toward the Future

But TXGR isn’t resting on its victories.

The Clay Shoot is a fundraiser for identifying pro-gun candidates and exposing anti-gun candidates during the 2026 midterms, where gun owners have the opportunity to build upon pro-gun majorities in congress thanks to redistricting.

At the state level, retirements and reshuffling have also created a rare opportunity to expand pro-gun majorities in Austin — laying the foundation for:

  • Eliminating so-called “gun-free zones.”
  • Passing Kyle’s Law, ensuring self-defense is fully protected.
  • Enacting a strong Second Amendment Preservation Act to shield Texans from unconstitutional federal gun grabs.

Money raised will also support the Texas Gun Rights Foundation, which takes TXGR’s no-compromise approach into the courtroom and equips grassroots Texans with the training they need to become effective Second Amendment activists.

From Attorney General Ken Paxton to rising stars like Briscoe Cain and Brandon Herrera, the TXGR Clay Shoot will showcase the growing political muscle of the no-compromise gun rights movement in Texas.

As TXGR President Chris McNutt often reminds supporters: Gun owners don’t win by cutting deals — we win by refusing to compromise.

And this weekend in Fort Worth, Texas gun owners will be doing just that: pulling triggers, raising funds, and gearing up to secure even more victories for freedom in 2026.
