The Gun Confiscation Lobby’s Training Program Fails Miserably

The gun confiscation lobby is in chaos — and it’s their own doing.

When Everytown for Gun Safety launched its new “Train SMART” firearms training program, you might have thought the anti-gun establishment had finally admitted the obvious: Americans own guns, and the responsible thing to do is encourage training.

But instead of applause, Everytown was met with outrage from within their own ranks.

Many allies, activists, and public figures turned on them — furious that the group had strayed from the orthodoxy of disarmament.

Some were so angry they even resigned in protest.

Why? Because the gun confiscation lobby doesn’t want “safety.” They want fewer guns, period.

Training or “Abstinence”?

According to a USA Today report, critics slammed Everytown’s program because it acknowledges the reality of firearms in American life.

To them, even teaching safe handling undermines their decades-long narrative that guns are inherently evil.

Some said training was “hurtful and insulting” to survivors.

Others accused Everytown of betraying its mission by implicitly admitting that law-abiding Americans will continue to own firearms.

It’s the same twisted logic we’ve seen for years: when faced with a choice between empowering citizens to be safe or pushing them into helplessness, the gun confiscation lobby always chooses helplessness.

The Big Lie of “Gun Safety”

Let’s be clear: Everytown and its billionaire backers like Michael Bloomberg never cared about “gun safety.” The phrase has always been camouflage for confiscation.

That’s why they reflexively oppose anything that promotes responsible ownership — whether it’s armed self-defense, church security teams, or now, even firearms training.

If they truly cared about safety, they would celebrate the fact that law-abiding Texans can carry without a government permission slip.

They’d cheer when a trained church security team stops a killer in seconds, as we saw in White Settlement.

But they don’t. Instead, they rage against anything that undermines their real goal: total civilian disarmament.

Everytown’s foray into training has exposed a deep fracture in the gun confiscation lobby.

On one side, the purists demand “abstinence” — no guns, no compromise, and no acknowledgment that responsible ownership even exists.

On the other, the slick consultants at Everytown know they need to soften their message to maintain credibility with the American public.

The result? Infighting, resignations, and a narrative in tatters.

The Lesson for Gun Owners

Gun owners should take note. The gun confiscation lobby is not interested in coexistence or safety. They don’t want fewer tragedies — they want fewer gun owners.

Their rage over Everytown’s training program proves the point: when the choice is between saving lives through education or pushing their agenda of disarmament, they will choose disarmament every single time.

And that’s why groups like Texas Gun Rights fight without compromise. Because the other side doesn’t want your safety — they want your guns.
