Texas Legislature flirting with gun control?

January 15, 2019

The 2019 Legislative Session is heating up.

After anti-gun oligarchs like George Soros dumped nearly $3 million into Texas elections in 2018, their endorsed politicians are now filing bills in Austin to restrict your rights!

And they see Texas as a golden opportunity to expand their anti-gun reach.

That’s why gun owners like you will have to step up to the plate throughout the coming months.

Click here to sign your Second Amendment Mandate RIGHT AWAY.

Your signed mandate will send a loud-and-clear message to the Austin political establishment to stand strong on our gun rights or face the political consequences.

Anti-gun politicians are going all out to water down our right to keep and bear arms in 2019.

And they hope to divert our resources by having us fight off gun control bills instead of advancing pro-gun legislation like Constitutional Carry.

In fact, that’s exactly why Democrat Joe Moody already filed HB 131 — which implements dangerous “Red Flag” gun confiscation orders.

If passed, this law would authorize government bureaucrats to confiscate your firearms — without due process — over a mere accusation.

After your guns are taken away, you are then FORCED to defend yourself in court… and beg to get your firearms back.

But Joe Moody is not alone in his efforts to resurrect this bad policy.

He has a companion bill in the Senate: SB 157, authored by Senator Jose Rodriguez.

Let’s not forget that Governor Abbott made a short-lived push for this dangerous proposal just last summer.

So we can expect weak-kneed Republicans to either cave or come up with a “compromise” on this bad legislation.

These “Red Flag” gun confiscation orders are just a sneak preview of the anti-gun schemes that Democrats are cooking up for the 2019 session.

By forcing us to focus our resources on fighting defensive battles, the gun control lobby hopes that it will derail any efforts to move pro-gun legislation forward.

So we can’t just be content playing defense.

With pro-gun champion Rep. Jonathan Stickland filing HB 357, Texas’ Constitutional Carry bill, we have a golden opportunity to work on restoring gun rights in the Lone Star State.

This landmark legislation would allow law-abiding citizens to carry their firearm without having to beg the government for permission!

At its very core, it’s the Second Amendment which states “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

But I’m not going to sugarcoat it: this fight won’t be a walk in the park.

The gun control lobby’s darlings in the State Legislature have pledged to stop Constitutional Carry in its tracks and even repeal lukewarm reforms such licensed open carry and campus carry.

But anti-gun Democrats aren’t the main problem in the Texas State Legislature.

Even though Constitutional Carry remains the #1 priority of the Republican Party of Texas, it was Republicans who killed the bill the past two sessions.

In 2017, Republican State Representative Phil King KILLED Constitutional Carry in his Homeland Security & Public Safety Committee without even a public vote.

In 2015, anti-gun Republican Speaker of the House Joe Straus and his minions made sure to bury Constitutional Carry.

Now, with Straus out of the picture, there’s hope on the horizon.

Thanks to your efforts in the 2018 elections, Texas Gun Rights now has more Republican politicians on record in support of Constitutional Carry than ever before.

In spite of the “blue wave”, Republicans who ran on pro-gun platforms beat out weak-kneed Republicans and rabidly anti-gun Democrats over all.

Because of the constant pressure they’ll be under to kowtow to the anti-gun media, it is critical we band together and urge the Republican-dominated Legislature to honor their pledges!

Needless to say, your Texas Gun Rights will have our hands full with offensive AND defensive battles in 2019.
