Tell Dan Patrick to fix it!

Tell Dan Patrick to fix it!

May 10, 2021

Now is not the time to celebrate.

Even though Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has been parading around the passage of Constitutional Carry out of the Texas Senate, the fate of the bill is all but certain.

Thanks to the Dan Patrick-backed amendments to House Bill 1927 added in the Senate — Constitutional Carry could now see its demise in the Texas House due to a technicality.

Some political insiders are saying this “poison pill” was intentional because gun rights activists warned Patrick certain amendments could violate House rules and give Constitutional Carry opponents a chance to kill it in the House — but he did it anyway.

With only three weeks left until the end of the legislative session, it is critical Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Speaker Dade Phelan work together to fix Constitutional Carry and get HB 1927 to Governor Abbott’s desk immediately!

Lt. Gov. Patrick: (512) 463-0001

Speaker Phelan: (512) 463-1000

Your message can be as simple as:

Please fix Constitutional Carry and get it to Governor Abbott’s desk right away — without excuses or delays. Texas Gun Rights will keep me informed of your actions.

We are in the home stretch.

Thanks to your non-stop phone calls, emails, and even visits to the Capitol, your politicians are finally understanding that pro-gun Texans will accept nothing less than Constitutional Carry in 2021.

That’s why Governor Greg Abbott is asking the Texas Legislature to send it to his desk!

But in order for it to reach Governor Abbott’s desk, Lt. Governor Patrick MUST work with Speaker Phelan to FIX HB 1927 and get it there!

This is the only way Lt. Governor Patrick can prove he did not intentionally “poison pill” Constitutional Carry.

The ball is in his court.

Will Lt. Governor Patrick help make Texas the 21st Constitutional Carry state — or will he be the reason it dies at the hands of a Republican-controlled legislature once again?

We’re nearing a critical juncture where nearly half of the United States recognizes Constitutional Carry as the law of the land.

Yet Texas still requires law-abiding Texans to beg for government permission to carry their legally-owned handgun.

With the Biden Administration now attacking gun rights from D.C., the timing couldn’t be better for Austin politicians to make Texas the next Constitutional Carry state.

So call Lt. Gov. Patrick and Speaker Phelan and encourage them to get it to Governor Abbott’s desk immediately.

Lt. Gov. Patrick: (512) 463-0001

Speaker Phelan: (512) 463-1000

Your support is indispensable. I am so grateful to have so many freedom-loving Texans from across the country helping us get the job done.
