“No Kings” Protests Funded by Gun Control Elites Expose Left’s True Hypocrisy on Tyranny and the Second Amendment

By Chris McNutt

Weatherford, TX — Across the country, thousands of far-left protesters flooded the streets on June 14, chanting “No Kings” in what they claimed was a warning against the threat of a dictatorial Donald Trump presidency.

But behind the coordinated signs and scripted chants lies a deeper, darker truth: the protests were not about liberty — they were about control.

And they were bankrolled by some of the same radical actors who have relentlessly attacked the Second Amendment and conservative values for years.

A Manufactured Crisis Backed by the Anti-Gun Elite

The “No Kings” protests were organized by Indivisible, a progressive activist group that rose to prominence during Trump’s first term and has been one of the most vocal advocates for gun control, abortion-on-demand, and socialist policy.

The group has worked hand-in-glove with the radical anti-gun movement, lobbying for universal background checks, so-called “assault weapon” bans, and red flag laws that trample due process rights.

Indivisible’s fingerprints are all over the recent anti-Tesla protests, many of which targeted Elon Musk for resisting ESG agendas and standing up for free speech.

Now, that same energy has been redirected toward demonizing Trump — not because of real authoritarianism, but because their chosen elites are no longer in charge.

Among the protest’s biggest financial backers are names that should alarm every liberty-minded American:

Christy Walton, heiress to the Walmart fortune, who has given generously to Indivisible and was a top donor to The Lincoln Project, the anti-Trump super PAC that endorsed Joe Biden in 2020 and demonized anyone who supported the America First agenda.
George Soros, the notorious billionaire financier behind numerous left-wing causes worldwide, who has poured millions into groups working to erode the Second Amendment, defund police, and dismantle American sovereignty.

Military Parades Are American Tradition — Not Tyranny

The immediate pretext for the “No Kings” protests was a military parade held to mark the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army — which also happened to fall on Trump’s birthday. The left wasted no time in comparing the parade to fascist displays in North Korea or Nazi Germany.

But those comparisons are not just dishonest — they are ignorant of history.

Military parades have been a longstanding tradition in free societies, including France’s Bastille Day, Britain’s Trooping the Colour, and numerous U.S. events — from the Grand Review of the Armies in 1865 to the 1991 Desert Storm Victory Parade, where President George H. W. Bush oversaw a massive celebration of American military success.

These parades are not displays of tyranny. They are acts of national pride, meant to honor the men and women who fight to preserve liberty. To claim otherwise is not just historically illiterate — it’s deliberately misleading.

“No Kings” Protesters Bring Radicalism to the Lone Star State

While much of the media spotlight focused on protests in Washington and California, “No Kings” events were also staged across Texas, including in Austin, Dallas, and Houston.

These protests were part of the same nationwide movement led by Indivisible and backed by far-left mega-donors like George Soros and Christy Walton.

In Austin, protesters gathered near the Capitol holding signs that claimed “Democracy is dying” — despite the fact that Texas remains one of the strongest constitutional strongholds in the country.

Ironically, many of the same groups protesting Trump’s military parade in Texas are also lobbying the Legislature to ban commonly-owned firearms, pass red flag gun confiscation, and end campus carry.

Their hypocrisy is crystal clear: They chant “No Kings” while begging for more government control — of your guns, your speech, your movement, and your business.

These protests are just one piece of a broader, well-funded campaign to radicalize Texas and turn it into a blue, anti-gun battleground state.

Groups like the Soros-funded Texas Majority PAC are actively working to elect far-left Democrats at every level of government, with the aim of flipping Texas and dismantling the state’s proud pro-Second Amendment legacy.

The “No Kings” movement is simply their latest Trojan horse.

Texas Gun Rights stands firmly opposed to this coordinated assault on freedom, and will continue fighting to ensure Texas never bows to the radical whims of Washington, New York, or California elites.

The Real “Kings” of the Modern Left

The irony of chanting “No Kings” while worshiping at the altar of Joe Biden, Gavin Newsom, and Anthony Fauci could not be more absurd. These same “anti-king” protesters had no problem when:

— King Biden weaponized the ATF to target lawful gun owners.

— King Fauci locked down the nation, destroyed small businesses, and pushed unconstitutional mandates under the guise of “science.”

— King Newsom — perhaps the most tyrannical governor in America — signed sweeping gun control legislation to ban law-abiding Californians from carrying firearms to protect themselves.

Their view of tyranny is entirely partisan: it’s only a problem when it isn’t their king sitting on the throne.

Selective Outrage: January 6 vs. Riots of the Left

Democrats and their media allies have spent years inflating the events of January 6th as an “insurrection,” while openly minimizing or even celebrating left-wing riots:

In 2020, cities burned while reporters stood in front of flaming buildings calling the unrest “fiery, but mostly peaceful.”

In 2025, the same pattern repeated — with an ABC 7 anchor describing rioters in Los Angeles as “a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn.”

The double standard is impossible to ignore.

When the left riots, it’s “expression.” When the right protests, it’s “treason.”

And all of it is being used to justify more surveillance, more censorship, and more crackdowns on constitutional rights — especially the Second Amendment.

Gun Control: The First Step Toward Real Tyranny

History shows that dictators and kings — actual tyrants — have one thing in common: they disarm their citizens. From Nazi Germany to Soviet Russia to Communist China and Venezuela, gun confiscation always precedes authoritarian control.

That’s why the Founding Fathers enshrined the Second Amendment — not for hunting, or even self-defense, but for defense against tyranny.

As the left floods the streets screaming about imaginary monarchs, they ignore the very real threat posed by the political class they enable: a class that seeks to control speech, religion, education, and self-defense.

Indivisible, Soros, and their well-funded army of radicals aren’t fighting for democracy. They are waging a coordinated campaign to dismantle the American Republic and replace it with an unaccountable ruling elite who believe you should not have the right to speak, think, or defend yourself without their permission.

The Second Amendment Has Never Been More Important

Whether or not you believe the left’s claims that Donald Trump is some kind of “king,” one thing should be abundantly clear: if there’s any truth to their cries of tyranny, then the Second Amendment is more critical than ever.

The right to keep and bear arms is what separates America from the rest of the world — from the monarchies, communist regimes, and dictatorships that so many of these protest organizers quietly admire.

The “No Kings” protests are not about protecting the Constitution. They are about replacing it with rule by mob, mandate, and media manipulation.

And if patriotic Americans don’t stand strong — and armed — to defend liberty, the “kings” of the Right or Left will rule unchecked.
