NAGR PAC Joins Texas Gun Rights PAC in Backing Ken Paxton for U.S. Senate

The National Association for Gun Rights PAC (NAGR PAC) has officially endorsed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for U.S. Senate in the 2026 Republican primary, citing his proven, no-compromise record on the Second Amendment and blasting incumbent Senator John Cornyn for what they call “one betrayal after another” of gun owners.

NAGR PAC’s endorsement follows the lead of its Texas affiliate — Texas Gun Rights PAC (TXGR PAC) — which backed Paxton’s challenge to Cornyn in June.

“Gun owners in Texas have been burned too many times by establishment politicians like John Cornyn,” said Chris McNutt, president of Texas Gun Rights and chairman of TXGR PAC. “Ken Paxton has a record of actually going on offense to protect the Second Amendment — in the courtroom and on the campaign trail. That’s exactly the kind of leadership we need in the U.S. Senate.”

Paxton’s Record: Lawsuits and Liberty

NAGR PAC praised Paxton for his lawsuit against the Biden Administration’s attempt to impose background checks on private gun sales — a move Paxton argued was unconstitutional and not supported by statute.

The PAC also highlighted Paxton’s 100% pro-gun rating on the National Association for Gun Rights candidate survey, where he pledged to:

  • Oppose “Red Flag” gun confiscation laws.
  • Abolish the ATF and block funding increases.
  • Repeal the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.
  • Roll back unconstitutional federal laws like the Gun-Free School Zones Act.

Cornyn: “The Gun Control Lobby’s Best Friend in the GOP”

By contrast, the NAGR PAC characterized Senator John Cornyn as “the Gun Control Lobby’s best friend in the GOP,” pointing to his:

  • Partnership with Democrat Senator Chris Murphy and the Biden White House to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the largest federal gun control law in 30 years.
  • Championing of the “Fix NICS” Gun Ban, which expanded the federal prohibited persons list without due process.
  • Repeated votes to fund Biden’s anti-gun ATF.

“The establishment in Washington has grown too comfortable selling out gun owners,” said NAGR PAC executive director Dudley Brown. “It’s time to send a message: No more backroom gun control deals. No more Cornyn’s.”

2026: A National Reckoning for the Gun Rights Movement

While the endorsement focuses on the Texas primary, NAGR PAC made clear that the stakes are national.

The group says Cornyn’s defeat would send a shockwave through the Republican Party and the broader political establishment.

“This is about drawing a line in the sand,” said Brown. “Gun owners have had enough of Republicans who talk tough at home and cave in D.C. It’s time to elect fighters like Ken Paxton who won’t compromise.”

The National Association for Gun Rights PAC is actively fundraising to support Paxton’s campaign and other pro-gun candidates nationwide in the 2026 cycle.
