And with a special election scheduled for Tuesday, November 4th — following the resignation of former Senator Kelly Hancock — the stakes couldn’t be higher.
But instead of transparency, voters are getting a murky money trail, silence on pro-gun policy, and a campaign dominated by out-of-state casino influence.
Over 93% of John Huffman’s Campaign Funding Comes from One Casino
According to a report from Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, over 93.5% of the campaign support behind Senate District 9 candidate John Huffman came from just two entities tied to Las Vegas Sands and casino billionaire Miriam Adelson.
Huffman raised $575,792.39 during the July 1–September 25, 2025, filing period.
Of that, $500,000 came directly from the Texas Sands PAC.
Additionally, the Texas Defense PAC, which has received substantial casino-linked funding in the past, spent $595,260.46 backing Huffman during the same period.
Combined, these PACs account for $1,095,260.46, or 93.53% of the total support for Huffman’s candidacy
That’s not grassroots. That’s bought and paid for.
100% of Las Vegas Sands’ Casino Business Is Now in Communist China
But it raises a deeper, more serious question: Why is a corporation that no longer operates a single casino in the United States — and now does 100% of its gaming business in Communist China — suddenly spending 7-figures to influence a Texas Senate race?
After selling its U.S. casino holdings in 2022, Las Vegas Sands’ entire casino portfolio now exists in Macau, a special administrative region of China. That means Sands’ operations — and profits — are directly subject to the oversight and approval of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
So again: Why would a company whose bottom line is tied entirely to Beijing be so interested in Texas politics?
It doesn’t take much imagination to see the risk.
A company that must remain in the CCP’s good graces to survive is now trying to buy political capital in Texas — and they’re doing it behind a candidate who refuses to answer the most basic policy questions about the Second Amendment.
The CCP’s Gun Control Ideology Is Seeping into U.S. Policy
We already know the CCP enforces total civilian disarmament in China.
That same disarmament ideology has been echoed in U.S.-based gun control efforts pushed by groups like Everytown, Giffords, and March for Our Lives — groups that, according to investigative reports, have been indirectly supported by USAID grant dollars routed through intermediary nonprofits.
The CCP doesn’t have to push American gun control directly. The philosophy of centralized control and civilian disarmament spreads when U.S. taxpayer dollars, funneled through agencies like USAID, empower groups that promote authoritarian-style “public safety” models right here at home.
And now that philosophy is being imported into Texas — this time through the back door, via casino PACs and political silence.
Huffman Refuses to Answer Basic Second Amendment Questions
John Huffman has refused to return his Texas Gun Rights Candidate Survey.
That alone should raise eyebrows among gun owners.
The Texas Gun Rights Candidate Survey includes 15 basic questions that every Republican should be eager to answer:
Do you oppose gun bans?
Will you fight red flag laws?
Do you support ending gun-free zones?
Huffman has declined to answer every one of them — while his campaign is bankrolled by PACs tied to foreign regulatory interests.
We’re not saying Huffman supports gun control — but his silence speaks volumes.
Leigh Wambsganss: 100% Pro-Gun and Proven on the Ground
Meanwhile, Leigh Wambsganss did return her Texas Gun Rights Candidate Survey — scoring 100% pro-gun. And she didn’t just talk — she showed up.
Leigh stood side-by-side with our team in Austin this past legislative session to:
Ban red flag gun confiscation laws, and
Abolish the foster parent gun registry in Texas.
That’s the kind of no-compromise leadership Texas gun owners are looking for — not candidates who hide behind millions in PAC money and won’t speak for the Second Amendment.
If you live in Senate District 9, we encourage you to take action:
Call John Huffman at (603) 547-7328 and tell him to stop dodging the gun rights issue. Demand he return his Texas Gun Rights candidate survey and commit to defending your rights without compromise.
Then, call Leigh Wambsganss at (817) 567-2345 and thank her for standing strong for the Second Amendment. Urge her to keep fighting for Texas gun owners.
The fight for our rights doesn’t start on Election Day — it starts now, when we expose the money, demand answers, and hold politicians accountable.
Because the Second Amendment isn’t negotiable — and silence is not an option.
