As the incoming Trump administration prepares to take office for a second term following the former president’s decisive victory over radical leftist Kamala Harris, Democrat governors across the nation are already gearing up to defend their continuous assault on freedom and liberty. The radical, anti-gun agenda that defines the Democratic Party is no secret, and now, with the election results still fresh and President Trump actively assigning cabinet positions, the liberal establishment is preparing to fight tooth and nail against the Trump administration. Their vigor is especially pertinent when it comes to maintaining their unconstitutional tirade against the Second Amendment.

From California’s Governor Gavin Newsom to New York’s Kathy Hochul, progressive state leaders are scrambling to “Trump-proof” their liberal policies, and in doing so, are sending a clear message to patriots everywhere: they will stop at nothing to undermine the Constitution and the fundamental right of every American to keep and bear arms.

Newsom, one of the most vocal critics of President Trump, has already called for a special session of the state legislature to “protect” the state’s progressive policies from a Trump administration. The former mayor of San Francisco has spent his entire political career relentlessly pushing for gun control measures that infringe upon the rights of law-abiding citizens. In a brazen statement, he proclaimed that California’s freedoms are “under attack” and vowed to continue his campaign of resistance, with a special focus on blocking any efforts to strengthen Second Amendment protections.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta and his office have already begun reviewing more than 120 lawsuits filed against the Trump administration during his first term, with the left-wing lawyers and gun-grabbers who fill Bonta’s ranks preparing for more legal battles to block President Trump’s pro-gun agenda. 

While the Golden State leads the charge in defending anti-gun policies, Newsom is far from alone. Across the nation, blue states are organizing in preparation for what they anticipate will be a clash with the Trump administration over key issues, including “gun safety.” Governor Kathy Hochul of New York has already vowed to protect what she deems as “reproductive rights, civil rights, immigration, gun safety, labor rights, LGBTQ rights, and environmental justice” from the Trump administration’s agenda. New York has long been at the forefront of implementing some of the most draconian gun control laws in the nation, and Hochul will stop at nothing to maintain the status quo of disparaging Constitutional rights at every turn.

Hochul and her allies in other leftist-controlled states like Massachusetts and Washington are using every tool at their disposal to thwart any attempts by President Trump to expand gun rights and protect American freedoms. These governors, backed by radical attorneys general, are preparing legal strategies to fight back against any federal moves they perceive as a threat to their anti-gun policies. Promises from President Trump, such as concealed carry reciprocity, are sure to face considerable push back from the aforementioned gun-grabbing tyrants.

Thankfully, President Trump made considerable strides during his first term by appointing Constitutional, conservative justices in major courts across the country, particularly in the Supreme Court. The fight for the Second Amendment is not just a local issue, it’s a national one. Every law, every court case, and every protest that pits liberty-minded Americans against the tyrannical left is a battle that can and will be won. The stakes are high, and the left-wing elites will stop at nothing to strip us of our God-given rights.

But we won’t let them. Law-abiding gun owners are the last line of defense between the freedom guaranteed by the Constitution and the oppressive, authoritarian policies being pushed by the likes of Newsom, Hochul, and other radical Democrats. As gun owners, as patriots, and as defenders of liberty, we must remain vigilant. We must prepare to take on these left-wing governors in the courts, in the legislatures, and on the streets. The battle for the Second Amendment is far from over, and it will take all of us standing together to protect it.
