Rep. Stickland Pre-files Constitutional Carry (HB 357)

Pro-gun champion Rep. Jonathan Stickland filed HB 357, the 2019 Constitutional Carry bill!

December 6, 2018

Texas dodged a bullet during the 2018 mid-term elections.

Even though twelve Republican House seats flipped to the anti-gun fold, Texas is STILL an overwhelmingly pro-gun state.

In fact, Republicans still have control of the entire state legislature with strong majorities.

To top it off, there are more Representatives in the House on record in support of Constitutional Carry than ever before.

That’s why I’m happy to announce that pro-gun champion Rep. Jonathan Stickland is leading the charge by pre-filing Constitutional Carry HB 357!

If passed, Texas would join twelve other states with a version of this law on the books.

That’s why I need you to encourage your legislators to support Stickland’s bill.

So please sign your Constitutional Carry petition to your State Senator and State Representative right away!

Constitutional Carry is the simple idea that law-abiding citizens shouldn’t have to beg for permission to carry a firearm to protect themselves, or their loved ones.

In essence, it’s the Second Amendment, which states “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

Not only that, but Texans would send a loud message to the gun grabbers: HANDS OFF OUR GUN RIGHTS!

But I’ll be very blunt with you: this fight will not be easy.

Even though Constitutional Carry remains the #1 priority of the Republican Party of Texas, it was Republicans who killed the bill the past two sessions.

Last year, State Representative Phil King killed Constitutional Carry by refusing to allow it to come up for a vote in his Homeland Security & Public Safety Committee.

In 2015, it was anti-gun Speaker of the House Joe Straus and his lackeys that ensured the death of Constitutional Carry.

So even though Straus will not be returning to Austin as Speaker, his hand-picked successor, Dennis Bonnen, appears poised to grab the reins of power.

To add insult to injury, the slimy consulting class is already whispering in the ears of Republicans to not pass pro-gun legislation due to the anti-gun blue wave that swept across Dallas.

They say the time is “not right” to pass pro-gun legislation. We have to “appear reasonable” to the anti-gun media.

I say baloney!

NOW is the time to hold politicians accountable for their pro-gun pledges by forcing a recorded vote on Constitutional Carry in 2019.

With Jonathan Stickland leading the grassroots insurgency in the Texas House of Representatives –- in order to restore your God-given right to keep and bear arms — we need all hands on deck!

And I’m going to need your help to generate the pressure needed on the ENTIRE Legislature — to make sure we get a recorded vote on Constitutional Carry in 2019!

It is my goal to deliver 100,000 of your Constitutional Carry petitions to the Capitol in 2019.

That means I need to collect about 50,000 more!

So after you sign your petition, please share it with a pro-gun friend or family member.

Thank you for all that you do!
