TXGR Red Flag Gun Confiscation

Stop “Red Flag” gun confiscation in Austin!

Stop “Red Flag” gun confiscation in Austin!

Gun control.

They said it couldn’t happen here in Texas.

But after recent events, gun control zealots are frothing at the mouth to eviscerate our gun rights in the Lone Star State.

With President Trump joining the anti-gun lobby’s demands for “Red Flag” gun confiscation laws — I’m worried Governor Abbott will cave by calling a special session for gun control.

And he’s already called for “round table” meetings to discuss next actions.

That’s why it’s critical you sign your NO “RED FLAG” GUN CONFISCATION petition to your elected officials RIGHT AWAY.

Our lawmakers should focus on passing Constitutional Carry legislation, allowing law-abiding citizens to be their own first line of dense!

Instead, they are toying with the idea of disarming citizens with “Red Flag” gun confiscation orders.

Also known as Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPO’s), “Red Flag” laws turn the rule of law on its head by allowing the seizure of legally-owned firearms on the mere accusation that you “might” be a threat.

But by relying on baseless accusations and anonymous complaints as “evidence,” these laws can be easily abused by violent ex-spouses, stalkers, or criminals who seek to disarm their potential victims, leaving women defenseless to protect themselves and their children.

Contrary to the claims of “Red Flag” proponents, there is no due process and there is certainly no presumption of innocence, both of which are the bedrock of the American judicial system.

There is growing dissent from law enforcement across the country over these due process-shredding laws, spurring the creation of many “Second Amendment Sanctuary” counties.

For example, Weld County, Colorado Sheriff Steve Reams recently testified in Washington, D.C. saying “Red Flag” gun confiscation orders force officers to violate your Second, Fourth, and Fifth Amendment rights.

Reams explained these laws put officers in extremely dangerous situations with the citizens they are meant to serve and protect.

In fact, it was this type of unnecessary confrontation between law-abiding gun owners and law enforcement that led to the death of a Maryland man on his front doorstep.

And overzealous gun control advocates are pushing even harder for “Red Flag” laws after the recent shootings.

I know it may sound crazy, but gun confiscation is a much closer reality than you may realize…

El Paso’s State Representative Joe Moody is the House author of the “Red Flag” gun confiscation bill.

And Speaker Bonnen appointed Moody to serve as his Speaker Pro Tempore, the second most powerful position in the Texas House.

Not only that, Jose Rodriguez is the area’s State Senator, and Senate author of the same “Red Flag” gun confiscation bill.

Unfortunately, Governor Greg Abbott, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, and Speaker Bonnen recently met with them and the rest of the legislative delegation from El Paso…

And the result could be a special session being called to pass gun control!

That’s why it’s critical you sign your NO “RED FLAG” GUN CONFISCATION petition TODAY!

This isn’t our first rodeo.

Following the 2018 tragedy in Santa Fe, TX, Governor Abbott called on the Texas Legislature to study “Red Flag” gun confiscation orders after holding “round table” meetings.

After TXGR rang the alarm, your phone calls melted phone lines at the Capitol, forcing Abbott to back-track on his support for “Red Flag,” and making Dan Patrick declare it “dead on arrival” in the Senate.

And after the recent events, Governor Abbott is launching new “round table” meetings to discuss next actions.

With your help, we can STOP “Red Flag” gun confiscation once again.

But if we let our guard down, “Red Flag” gun confiscation could pass with Republican support, especially after receiving President Trump’s blessing.
