Weatherford, TX — A horrifying political assassination in Minnesota should be a wake-up call to every gun owner in America.
The brutal killings of Democrat State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, the shooting of Democrat State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, and the resulting manhunt for the suspect, Vance Luther Boelter, mark a tragic escalation in politically motivated violence on U.S. soil.
Make no mistake: Texas Gun Rights condemns all political violence — whether it’s against conservatives, liberals, or anyone in between.
Boelter’s actions were evil. Period.
But unlike the media, TXGR won’t play political games with the truth.
While Boelter is being called a right-wing extremist, reports also show he was a political appointee under Democrat leadership in Minnesota.
There are connections — and contradictions — that the media refuses to fully explore.
He wasn’t just some anonymous nutjob; he served on the same state workforce development board as Senator Hoffman, one of the victims.
Authorities say Boelter kept a “target list” of at least 70 names — including Democrat leaders like Ilhan Omar, Keith Ellison, and even abortion providers — raising serious concerns about ideologically motivated violence, whatever his past affiliations may have been.
But the truth is, this isn’t just a left-wing or right-wing issue. This is an America issue.
And this is exactly why we fight so hard — in the legislature, in the courtroom, and at the ballot box — to preserve the Second Amendment.
The Four Boxes of Liberty — Why the Ammo Box Must Remain the Last Resort
Frederick Douglass once said the four boxes of liberty are the soap box, the ballot box, the jury box, and the ammo box.
Texas Gun Rights operates in the first three. We lobby lawmakers. We drag anti-gun tyrants into the courtroom. We expose weak-kneed politicians at election time. And we will NEVER apologize for doing so.
But let us be clear: we are NOT living in a time that requires the ammo box — and we denounce anyone who acts otherwise.
That said, when the left is actively trying to criminalize gun ownership, while weaponizing the justice system against their political enemies, it’s no wonder tensions are boiling over.
The Hypocrisy of the Left: Political Violence Only Matters When It’s Against Them
The same media outlets breathlessly covering the Minnesota tragedy were nowhere near as engaged when President Trump was targeted, or when Republican lawmakers were shot at a congressional baseball game, or when Supreme Court justices were doxxed and threatened.
They told us the 2020 BLM riots — which left dozens dead — were “mostly peaceful.”
In the last few weeks, a mainstream news anchor in LA called rioters “a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn.”
This isn’t just hypocrisy — it’s a deliberate political double standard.
This is why TXGR exists: to fight for gun rights peacefully, powerfully, and relentlessly.
We won’t be intimidated by the left’s violence, and we won’t stoop to it either.
But we will remind them that only monarchies and dictatorships demand total disarmament of their citizens — and that’s exactly what radical Democrats like Gavin Newsom, George Soros and Michael Bloomberg want.
If these tyrants ever get their way and try to rip the Second Amendment from the Constitution, you better believe the American people will remember why the Founders enshrined it in the first place.
Texas Gun Rights will continue to sound the alarm, expose the lies, and defend liberty — because the Second Amendment isn’t just about deer hunting.
It’s about ensuring that We The People are never ruled by tyrants again.
