Elon Musk Offers $47 Payment for Pro-Gun Voter Referrals

October 15th, 2024

Tesla founder and current X/Twitter owner Elon Musk recently rolled out a new program via his Super PAC, America PAC, to increase voter turnout for former President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.

Musk is offering $47 to individuals who refer registered voters in swing states to sign a petition. This program targets supporters of both the First and Second Amendments: the right to free speech and the right to bear arms.

This campaign aims to obtain the signatures of one million registered voters across seven swing states. The petition asks the signers to explicitly back these foundational Constitutional rights.

Although he has historically been a political centrist, Musk has taken stronger pro-2A positions in recent years, especially since he bought Twitter in October 2022. In the present election cycle, Musk has been particularly vocal about his support of the right to bear arms.

With Kamala Harris at the top of the Democrat Party presidential ticket, Musk felt compelled to sound off on his pro-gun views. In an X post he published on September 8, 2024, Musk declared, “The right to bear arms is there to protect free speech and stop a tyrannical government from taking your rights away! That’s why the first thing that all tyrants do is disarm the people, just like Chavez did when he was first elected. After that, no more real elections in Venezuela.”

Harris has tried to mask her anti-gun record by selecting a Vice Presidential candidate in Tim Walz, who presents himself as an everyday hunter who believes in the Second Amendment, although with “commonsense” restrictions. During his time as Minnesota governor (2019-present), Walz signed universal background checks and a Red Flag gun confiscation order into law.

Harris has even attempted to re-brand herself as a supporter of gun rights. During an appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s show on September 19, 2024, Harris revealed, “I’m a gun owner. Tim Walz is a gun owner,” which caught Winfrey by surprise. Harris added, “If somebody breaks into my house, they’re getting shot.”

Such remarks ultimately ring hollow after Harris vowed at her first joint campaign appearance with Walz in Philadelphia to push for an AR-15 ban in addition to the implementation of Universal Background Checks and Red Flag gun confiscation orders. Harris is an anti-gun zealot through and through.

Having someone like Elon Musk on the Second Amendment’s side is a welcome development. After all, the anti-gun crowd counts on the support of oligarchs such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg, who can drop big cash into campaigns and organizations that advance civilian disarmament. With Elon Musk now firmly on the pro-gun aisle, Second Amendment activists now have a powerful figure who can use his resources to change the electoral landscape in a more pro-gun direction.

Musk’s support of the Second Amendment is the x-factor that could put gun rights over the top this election cycle and keep Kamala Harris from assuming the presidency. Pro-gun advocates should take advantage of Musk’s petition program by using it to get as many gun owners involved in this election cycle as possible.

When a patron like Musk is at the helm, you would be crazy not to use his brand and platform to expand the Second Amendment’s reach to unprecedented levels nationwide. We could be on the verge of a major paradigm shift in gun policy. Let’s not allow this opportunity to go to waste.
