Prominent gun control groups across the nation were quick to throw their support behind radical leftist Kamala Harris as soon as she announced her candidacy back in July. After all, she was by far the single most anti-2nd Amendment presidential candidate in U.S. history.
Following her tremendous loss on November 5th to former President Donald Trump, those same gun-grabbing groups have been left in disarray. Understandably so, it should be added, as Kamala Harris would proudly tout her sympathy for policies that some of history’s greatest tyrants could only dream of, such as mass firearm confiscation and home raids of law-abiding gun owners. Trump’s victory, the largest for any Republican candidate since 2004, sent a clear message to both these groups and the Democratic Party as a whole that their un-American, un-Constitutional and authoritarian tendencies were not welcome among the vast majority of voters.
They are self admittedly traumatized, disillusioned, and dispirited by such a crushing defeat. Everytown for Gun Safety, for example, posted on the social media platform X, “This is devastating,” in response to the news of Trump’s massive electoral win. Meanwhile, the executive director for radical anti-gun organization Moms Demand Action, Angela Ferrell-Zabala, lamented that her and her organization were “crushed.” Kris Brown’s Bradybuzz, whose tagline is “United Against Gun Violence,” failed in their attempt to signal a more optimistic viewpoint by announcing “we have weathered storms before.”
While joy can be taken in witnessing the dismay of tyrants, it is important for gun owners to remain vigilant. The tears of those who wish to disarm the American people and subject them to untold violence with no form of self-defense may be delicious, but remember that while they’re crying, they’re also planning their revenge.
Everytown has vowed to double their efforts to strip Americans of their God-given rights. Moms Against Action promised to “fight like hell,” while enhancing both their organizational and legal efforts. Brady recalled their battles during Trump’s first term to tear down the 2nd Amendment and fight against gun rights at every turn. There can be no doubt in any gun owner’s mind that the right to bear arms remains under constant attack, even if the gun grabbers have faced a significant lockdown.
Each law that is passed to expand Americans’ 2nd Amendment rights will be met with fierce legal court battles. Mainstream media will ramp up their coverage of violent tragedies, exploiting victims of gun violence to emotionally stimulate voters into giving up their own right to self-defense. Mass protests will be staged, and school children will be propagandized to fight against the God-given rights that their very nation was built to protect and honor.
Ideally, Donald Trump will prove to be everything that radical gun grabbers think he is, and dramatically expand the American people’s right to bear arms. Hopefully, he will also fight against the anti-gun lobby just as hard as they fight against him. If his campaign rhetoric is anything to go off of, Trump’s views towards the importance of gun rights have only gotten stronger, even after having been shot in the ear.
While the left-wing gun-grabbers may be dismayed, they are also energized and ready to fight. Gun owners and 2nd Amendment advocates must match their energy in defense of self-defense rights, and ardently combat the left at every turn, whether ideologically, legally, strategically, or communicationally.
