According to reporting from Ammmoland and campaign finance watchdog OpenSecrets, anti-gun groups have given 99% of their political contributions to Democrats since 1990, painting a crystal-clear picture of where the gun control lobby’s allegiance lies (as if there was any confusion).
But despite the overwhelming bias in funding, the media remains conspicuously silent, offering no scrutiny to the billionaires and special interests trying to dismantle gun rights in America — all while continuing to target groups like the NRA, and ignoring more aggressive, no-compromise outfits like Texas Gun Rights (TXGR) and the National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) that have been outflanking the NRA from the right for more than a decade.
Big Money, Radical Agenda
OpenSecrets data shows that Everytown for Gun Safety, funded by billionaire Michael Bloomberg, dumped $9.3 million into political campaigns in the last cycle alone — with over $9.1 million going to liberal groups and Democrats.
A meager $1,000 went to Republicans.
Another major player, Giffords, contributed over $3.2 million, with 100% going to Democrats and liberal groups.
The Brady Campaign, Ban Assault Weapons Now PAC, and others followed the same trend.
And this isn’t just about buying ads or mailing campaign flyers.
These donations go toward influencing legislation, empowering anti-gun attorneys general, and fueling lawsuits designed to bleed gun rights organizations dry — all under the guise of “public safety.”
Meanwhile, these same Democrat politicians and their donors claim to be “for the people” and against corporate influence.
But while they demonize conservative and pro-Second Amendment lobbying, they’re perfectly happy to rake in millions from elitists like Bloomberg, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and the late Paul Allen, who funded disarmament campaigns in Washington and other states.
Lawfare: The Left’s New Anti-Gun Weapon
With their grip on Capitol Hill weakening and their legislative efforts floundering, the gun control lobby is turning to the courts.
As Guns.com recently reported, 16 anti-gun attorneys general have filed suit against Texas Gun Rights, National Association for Gun Rights, RareBreed Triggers and the Trump administration over the recent settlement regarding Forced Reset Triggers (FRTs).
That lawsuit comes after TXGR, NAGR, and Rare Breed Triggers won a major court victory forcing the DOJ and ATF to back off their unconstitutional overreach.
But now, these Democrat AGs are attempting to relitigate the entire matter.
In their 32-page complaint, they argue FRTs effectively convert AR-15s into fully automatic machine guns, claiming the ATF’s settlement violates federal law and endangers public safety.
It’s a desperate effort to block the return of nearly 12,000 lawfully owned devices — and to punish pro-gun groups for winning in court.
Let’s be clear: this is not about safety. It’s about draining the coffers of gun rights organizations by dragging them into prolonged, expensive litigation.
With taxpayer money and state AGs at their disposal, the gun control lobby has near-unlimited resources to wage war on gun owners — and they’re using it.
This is the same playbook they backed when Mexico sued U.S. gun manufacturers, including Smith & Wesson, trying to blame them for cartel violence.
That lawsuit, too, was supported by nearly every major gun control group — and thankfully, SCOTUS shut it down.
But it won’t be the last attempt.
Why the Fight Must Continue
Groups like Texas Gun Rights and NAGR are under siege because they’re winning.
They’ve been instrumental in banning red flag laws in Texas, pressuring lawmakers to repeal unconstitutional gun restrictions, and defending gun owners in court — where the NRA has often hesitated.
But none of it happens without support.
Chris McNutt, President of Texas Gun Rights, warns: “Gun owners cannot afford to be complacent. The anti-gun Left is relentless. If we take our foot off the gas for even a moment, they’ll change the trajectory of our state and our country overnight.”
With billionaire-backed organizations like Everytown and Giffords pouring millions into elections, even once red states are battlegrounds now.
As Texas Gun Rights recently reported, George Soros has even renewed efforts to “flip Texas blue” by financially supporting “Texas Majority Pac,” aimed at turning Texas into the next battleground state.
As the political winds shift and court battles escalate, gun owners must stay engaged, vocal, and unwavering.
