Texas State Fair Security recently announced that firearms, including concealed carry firearms, will not be permitted within the fairgrounds during the upcoming Texas State Fair. This is nothing more than a feel-good measure that will leave fairgoers defenseless should a threat arise.
According to Crime Prevention Research Center, 94% of mass shootings between 1950 and 2023 occurred in Gun Free Zones. Armed civilians stopped attacks in 35% of mass shootings that occurred within a gun free zone. “Gun Free Zones” are some of the most dangerous places to be without a firearm.
The facts make it clear: Texas is a safer place when Texans have the ability to protect themselves. Texas Gun Rights is calling on the Texas State Fair to rescind this new policy immediately, allowing lawful gun owners their God-given right to self defense while on the fairgrounds.
