Stop Biden's Radical Agenda! | Sign No red Flag Gun Confiscation

TXGR Seeking to End Cornyn’s “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation Betrayal with SB 1362

Weatherford, TX — In 2022, U.S. Senator John Cornyn of Texas stood shoulder to shoulder with Democrats and helped ram through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) — legislation that has since become a cash pipeline for gun control grants across the nation.

Now, just two years later, the BSCA is fueling red flag-style gun confiscation programs in dozens of states — and the top 10 recipients include some of the most surprising “pro-gun” jurisdictions in the country.

And here’s the kicker: Texas tops the list.

Despite having no official red flag law on the books, Texas has accepted more than $33.5 million in federal crisis intervention funds — more than any other state in America.

That funding, made available through the BSCA, is meant to incentivize the adoption and enforcement of red flag-style laws that strip Americans of their firearms without due process.

This is the direct legacy of John Cornyn’s betrayal.

“Cornyn sold out gun owners when he partnered with Joe Biden to create the largest federal gun control expansion in decades,” said Chris McNutt, president of Texas Gun Rights (TXGR). “Now that money is flooding into states to underwrite gun confiscation programs — including right here in Texas.”

And Texas isn’t alone. Other red and purple states high on the list include:

  • Florida – $15.1 million
  • Ohio – $12 million
  • Georgia – $11.8 million
  • Tennessee – $10.6 million
  • Arizona – $9.6 million
  • Missouri – $8.5 million
  • Indiana – $8.3 million
  • South Carolina – $7.3 million
  • Louisiana – $7.1 million

Many of these states either have red flag laws already on the books — or have quietly used the federal grant money to bolster “crisis intervention” infrastructure that could one day be used to enforce red flag-style seizures.

Even Missouri, which passed a Second Amendment Preservation Act in 2021, somehow accepted over $8.5 million in BSCA crisis funds — raising serious questions about state-level compliance with federal gun control.

But nowhere is the irony more glaring than in Texas, where lawmakers claim to stand for the Second Amendment — even as they accept federal dollars to build out programs that could be turned against gun owners.

That’s why Texas Gun Rights is leading the fight to stop it.

TXGR is backing Senate Bill 1362, also known as the Anti-Red Flag Act, which passed the Texas Senate and now awaits action in the House.

The bill would ban red flag laws statewide, prohibit enforcement of out-of-state red flag orders, and block local governments from accepting BSCA funds tied to gun confiscation efforts.

“Texas has no red flag law — and we intend to keep it that way,” McNutt said. “SB 1362 is a bold stand against Cornyn’s sellout and Biden’s bribery program.”

TXGR is urging gun owners across Texas to contact their state representatives and demand a clean passage of SB 1362 — no amendments, no loopholes, and no compromises.

With the legislative session ending June 1, the window to stop Biden-Cornyn red flag funding in Texas is closing fast. And as TXGR makes clear, there will be no forgiveness for lawmakers who fail to act when liberty is on the line.
