Ten Republican Senators are pushing nationwide gun control legislation as a “compromise” with Democrats.

This is a national gun rights emergency, so please before you read the rest of this email contact your elected officials and tell them “No Gun Control Deals!”

Chief among these traitors is Texas Senator John Cornyn.

I can’t say that I am surprised.

For years, Cornyn has taken it upon himself to be the deal-maker on gun control with Democrats, always looking to go to the table with his most rabidly anti-gun colleagues to find something they can agree on and shove down our throats.

Of course, he’s angling to be the next Republican Senate leader after swamp creature Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell finally retires.

Cornyn is a perfect example of everything that is wrong with Washington, D.C.

Senator Cornyn can hide behind bloated ratings from the establishment gun lobby all he wants, but his wheeling and dealing with radical Democrats like Senator Chris Murphy has no excuse.

The left will not stop till America’s gun laws look like Canada or Cuba.

For the sake of our nation, gun owners must not accept compromise by dangerous elitists like John Cornyn.

With major GOP donors supporting his efforts in an open letter to lawmakers, Cornyn’s plot is an extreme danger to your gun freedom.

Just take a look at some gun control Cornyn is working to pass with Democrats:

*** Federal Red Flag gun confiscation grant program.

Red Flag has been a losing issue in Texas thanks to the grassroots pressure generated by Patriots like you. This proposal would take your tax dollars and use them to effectively bribe politicians into passing Red Flag. This is the same strategy the feds have used to pressure states into changing the legal drinking age among other things. It works.

“Red Flag” laws call for firearms to be forcibly confiscated from law-abiding Americans without due process, based on accusations – without any proof – from disgruntled family members, neighbors, government officials, and/or current or ex-romantic partners, or roommates.

Judges are able to issue orders authorizing law enforcement, including SWAT teams, to immediately seize firearms from the subject of the order without notification or right to an attorney.

*** Closing the so-called boyfriend loophole AKA the bad breakup gun ban.

Stripping gun rights from men and women for simply having a toxic relationship or bad breakup.

*** Ban Private Sales by Redefining FFLs

By changing the definition of what constitutes the need for an FFL in order to sell firearms, this proposal would essentially ban private firearms sales.

*** Federal waiting periods and increased investigation of 18-20 year olds.

You can vote, you can go to war, and you definitely can pay taxes but exercising your Second Amendment rights? Forget about it.

This proposal would add additional burdensome background checks to 18-20 year olds purchasing firearms.

With RINOs like John Cornyn negotiating our rights away, who needs Democrats?

Big money behind gun control in Texas

It’s getting worse.

Establishment Republicans and Democrats are seizing the opportunity to pass sweeping new gun control in the wake of the tragedy in Uvalde.

I’m sure you’ve seen the usual faces capitalizing on Texans’ pain to push their dangerous agenda. Beto, Hollywood cowboy Matthew McConnaughey and the like.

But RINOs are also crawling out of the woodwork to throw your rights in the trash compactor in the name of “bipartisanship.”

Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn is pushing gun control legislation at the federal level.

This isn’t surprising since Cornyn has long made it a point of pushing Universal Gun Registration all in the name of “just doing something” and “common sense.”

And as your TXGR Legislative Director sent out in an alert last week, Republican state legislators Rep. Jeff Leach and Sen. Kel Seliger are both joining with Democrats to demand a special session to pass gun control legislation.

At the time I write you this email no special session has been called, but I need your immediate action to fend off this growing threat.

So please, sign your “No Gun Control!” petition to your lawmakers right away!

Governor Greg Abbot personally appointed an “investigation committee” consisting of Democrat Rep. Joe Moody, Republican Rep. Dustin Burrows, and former Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman to recommend actions to the legislature after Uvalde.

Rep. Burrows voted against TXGR backed amendments to expand Constitutional Carry to all legal adults, college campuses, and lands managed by the Lower Colorado River Authority in 2021.

Rep. Moody is notoriously hostile to your right to bear arms.

Last session alone, Moody authored bills to ban the carry of long guns in public, confiscate guns without due process with “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation, and institute Universal Gun Registration.

He even accused those who reject gun control of racism and blamed the 2019 mass shooting in El Paso on concerns over illegal immigration.

Moody is not even a “moderate” by Democrat standards. He is openly and unashamedly looking to disarm Texas citizens.

So why would he be appointed to this position by a Republican governor? Why are establishment Republicans at every level showing signs of caving to the whims of gun control advocates?

As with most things in politics, you have to follow the money to get the answer.

Just days ago, over 200 of the largest GOP donors in Texas penned a letter urging support for Sen. Cornyn’s “compromises” on the Second Amendment.

You and I both know what that really means.

When the establishment urges “compromise” what they really mean is “sit there quietly while we sell off your freedom for political points.”

The fallout from this push for gun control is not contained to Washington. Texas politicians are already falling in line.

You can bet that not a single politician will lose any armed security in their “compromising.”

Only law-abiding gun owners will be punished and endangered.

That is, if we let them get away with this.

You will no doubt be getting updates from me frequently as this fight progresses — the situation is changing daily.

But know this: your Texas Gun Rights will never settle for compromise.

I must have your help to take on this threat, so please sign your “No Gun Control” petition immediately.

Don’t forget, in 2019 Texas Gun Rights supporters like you put a stop to Abbott and Lt. Governor Dan Patrick’s “Gun Control Roadshow” pushing hearings on “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation and came back in 2021 to make Texas the twenty-first Constitutional Carry state.

Victory didn’t come easy then, either.

Gun owners must fight like never before for the future of gun rights in Texas.

That means going all out with pressure campaigns. We must pay for massive mail, phone, and online program in addition to readying activists to work on the ground in the capitol at a moment’s notice.

I want to be completely transparent with you about the state of play.

Texas Gun Rights does not have the billions at their disposal like the Bloomberg backed Gun Control Lobby, and I am not backed up by the big money donors that establishment Republicans are addicted to.

My simple hope is that I have you.

So please, after signing your petition, take a moment and ask yourself what you can give to support this important work.

Breaking: Abbott requests special committee to address ‘firearms safety’

Fellow Patriot,

It’s been intense the last couple of weeks.

Democrats and RINO Republicans have unashamedly capitalized off of a tragedy to try to pursue their dangerous agenda to destroy the Second Amendment.

And of course, one of the most self-aggrandizing politicians out there is Robert Francis O’Rourke.

Like a typical, ambitious Left-winger looking to climb the political ladder, he made himself the center of attention after the murders in Uvalde by interrupting the official press conference in the town to loudly parrot Democrat talking points.

Like many politicians, Mr. O’Rourke is an actor first and foremost.

He doesn’t bother with silly things like respect and principles because to Robert Francis the whole world is his stage and the people in it are just side characters in his big show. He even has a stage name.

“Beto” had his minute in the spotlight when he infamously screamed “Hell yes we’ll take your AR-15, your AK-47!” on the stage of the Democrat Presidential Primary debates….and had T-shirts bearing the threat ready to sell that same night.

But when he decided he’d like to be Governor, Beto changed his tune and said that he didn’t support a ban on these popularly owned rifles in an attempt to appear moderate.

Now that he sees an opportunity to raise campaign dollars from hyped up Democrats in California and New York, he has returned to screeching for confiscating America’s most popular rifle, along with a slew of other gun control laws.

Stand up to “Beto” by signing your “No New Gun Control” petition right away!

Worse, Governor Greg Abbott is succumbing to pressure by calling for the creation of special legislative committees to address “firearms safety.”

This is reminiscent of Abbott’s request for the study of “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation in 2018, or his 2019 creation of the “Gun Control Roadshow.”

By creating these committees, the gun control debate stays alive and well and gives anti-gunners free reign to continue raising money to push their radical agenda.

Sadly, there are even Republican members of the Texas legislature, Rep. Jeff Leach and Sen. Kel Seliger, calling for a special session on gun control so they can “just do something”.

That something is of course, handing your gun rights over to the Left in the name of compromise.

Texas Gun Rights supporters stopped Abbott’s “Gun Control Roadshow” in 2019 and that fight led to passing Constitutional Carry in 2021.

I point this out because I need you to see that there is a way forward.

If gun owners like you support Texas Gun Rights’ efforts, we will not only be able to defeat the push for gun control, but we can once again go on the offensive.

So please, sign your “No New Gun Control” petition right away!

On Monday, Chris sent our members an email asking if they would let Beto take your guns. One of our members sent back a response I just had to share:

TXGR Statement on Uvalde, TX

Gut wrenching.

As a new father, my heart sank to the floor when I heard about the children murdered by a deranged criminal at an elementary school in Uvalde yesterday.

Just last week, my wife and I chose a school for our five-month-old daughter to attend once she turns a year old — and the thought of such a tragedy happening at her future school instantly sowed a seed of fear and doubt in my brain.

I pray no one else ever has to experience the pain and trauma the families in Uvalde are experiencing right now, and I pray that the families and victims of this senseless tragedy will find strength through the Lord to get through this.

Sadly (and as expected), this tragic event is already being exploited by the anti-gun Left for political purposes — all in effort to salvage and distract everyone from the fledgling polling numbers of President Biden and anti-gun Democrats nationwide.

Even before Joe Biden rushed to the camera to give his super-partisan gun control speech last night, and before Beto hijacked Governor Abbott’s press conference to score political points, gun control activist groups like Brady United for Gun Control were mobilizing end to the U.S. Senate filibuster — so the Senate can ram gun control through Congress with a simple majority.

Of course, Moms Against Guns and their affiliate, Everytown for Gun Control, sprung into action with calls for more gun control from our elected leaders — before the crime scene was even fully processed and before all of the details of the crime were fully released.

Despicable.

Michael, the anti-gun Left is filled with glee because they KNOW their coffers will soon be flooded with money from anti-gun elites and heartbroken parents they’re exploiting all over the country.

And they are hell bent on dividing our communities with hatred and racist narratives instead of actually helping the victims and their families.

Absolutely disgusting.

But as former Obama-Biden Administration staffer Rahm Emanuel once stated: “never let a crisis go to waste.”

Calls for AR-15 bans instantly consumed social media following the shooting… even though the reports were conflicting whether he used a rifle or a handgun.

Calls for expanded background checks came at the cries of gun control activists across the country, yet the killer was 18 years old and could not legally purchase his handgun and successfully passed a criminal background check for his rifle.

Here in Texas, calls for the repeal of our Constitutional Carry law are being mentioned as a solution that could have prevented this tragedy – even though this deranged killer is not even old enough to carry a handgun under the new Texas law.

The painful truth is these innocent children were left defenseless against a madman because we refuse to protect our children while at school — no thanks to the Gun Free Zones Act supported by President Biden when he was a Senator.

Yet bureaucrats in Washington and Austin are focused on expanding their failed gun laws and turning more law-abiding citizens into sitting ducks with less guns, more restrictions, and more “Gun Free” zones.

The simple truth is gun control is failing our country.

And solutions that punish law-abiding citizens for the actions of a deranged criminal are clearly NOT a viable solution.

Michael, sadly, we are now preparing for the largest assault on gun rights that we’ve ever seen and we must be able to fight back vigorously.

As we’ve seen in the past, even some of our highest ranking Republicans in Texas have catered to the anti-gun media after a tragedy… from Senator John Cornyn to Governor Greg Abbott and even Lt. Governor Dan Patrick.

That’s why law-abiding gun owners must be louder than MSDNC and the anti-gun media with their giant megaphone.

So please sign your No Gun Control Mandate to your lawmakers today.

After that, I hope you will double down on your commitment to Texas Gun Rights by becoming a monthly “Alamo Defender” member with a monthly commitment to TXGR.

I’m sure you will agree that defending your Second Amendment rights is at least as important as your monthly streaming service.

But I also know that might be a stretch for some of our most dedicated members — with the costs of virtually everything we consume rising under the broken Biden Administration.

So I hope you will share this article with at least 5 family members or friends so they can join the Texas Gun Rights army to fight the inevitable gun control onslaught.

And most importantly, I hope you’ll join me in praying for the victims and their families.

Rumors and false allegations in Texas House Districts 60 & 91

Fellow Patriots,

It has come to our attention that Representatives Glenn Rogers and Stephane Klick are trying to hide from their anti-gun voting record by bringing in political allies to provide them cover.

In a letter recently mailed to House District 60 & 91 residents, Texas Gun Rights was accused of making false allegations about the anti-gun record of Representatives Glenn Rogers and Stephanie Klick. Let me set the record straight:

Representative Rogers was asked if he supported Constitutional Carry during a Hood County Candidate Forum in February of 2020. Every candidate at the forum said they supported Constitutional Carry, but Glenn Rogers was the lone voice for gun control who said he only would support legal carry with training requirements; i.e. maintain the gun licensing status quo and NOT supporting actual Constitutional Carry! During this time, Representative Rogers also refused to return his completed Texas Gun Rights candidate survey and go on the record for many important issues as related to the Second Amendment.

When it comes to gun rights in rural Texas, there is NO reason any Republican candidate shouldn’t boldly an unapologetically proclaim their support for the Second Amendment with a public record!

Thanks to the pressure from thousands of Texas Gun Rights members and supporters across House District 60, Representative Rogers changed his tune by voting for Constitutional Carry without licensing or training requirements in 2021…along with nearly every other Republican legislator and even 7 House Democrats!

Unfortunately, both Representative Rogers and Representative Klick voted against 3 of Texas Gun Rights amendments that would have strengthened and expanded Constitutional Carry for more law-abiding gun owners:

TXGR backed amendment 6 by Cason (Record vote #264):
Protect the right of adults eighteen through twenty to carry their legally possessed handgun without a government permission slip.

Rogers: NO Klick: NO

TXGR backed amendment 18 by Biedermann (Record vote #275):
Protect the right of legal gun owners to carry their handgun on college campuses.

Rogers: NO Klick: NO

TXGR backed amendment 21 by Biedermann (Record vote #278):
End the prohibition against Constitutional Carry on lands managed by the Lower Colorado River Authority including dozens of campgrounds across Texas.
Rogers: NO Klick: NO

These amendments were drafted by Texas Gun Rights attorneys and were offered by Representatives Kyle Biedermann and Jeff Cason. Sadly, the amendments were voted down by many politicians who did not have the political courage to pass the cleanest version of Constitutional Carry possible.

While Texas Gun Rights ultimately supported the final bill so Texas could become the 21st Constitutional Carry state, we did not give any politician false hope they would not be held accountable for their anti-gun votes. After all, Texas Gun Rights is NO COMPROMISE. And we actually mean it.

“Voting against these pro-gun amendments is a pro-gun vote!” How ridiculous does that sound?

Sadly, there are folks in Austin who would have you believe that an amendment allowing Constitutional Carry on parks and land managed by the Lower Colorado River Authority, or an amendment to prevent a law-abiding citizen from disarming on a college, would somehow have caused the bill to die in a Republican-controlled legislature.

Instead of having the fortitude to vote correctly, these weak sisters made a pact to vote in a block in hopes of giving their RINO counterparts cover so they wouldn’t be exposed in the election. They chose to play politics with your Second Amendment rights and voted to maintain dangerous gun control laws instead. But now we are here to EXPOSE them.

Licenses shouldn’t grant special privileges. That means, if you are able to legally possess a firearm, you should be able to carry it without begging for government permission. That also means that all gun owners should be treated equally under the law, so there isn’t a confusing patchwork of gun control, tripping up otherwise law-abiding citizens from accidentally running afoul of the law.

Representatives Rogers and Klick are caught flat-footed leading up to Election Day after being EXPOSED for their betrayals to gun owners. And now that pro-gun Texans are understandably upset over their actions, they’re throwing a hail marry by asking the political establishment to defend them.

No matter how hard they try, Representatives Rogers and Klick also can’t hide from the fact they are both also REFUSING to return their Texas Gun Rights candidate surveys and go on the record against the Biden/Beto anti-gun agenda.

In deep-red, pro-gun districts like House District 60 and 91, what anti-gun views are Representative Rogers and Klick trying to hide? When top Republican “leaders” Governor Abbott and Lt. Governor Dan Patrick have caved on “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation and Universal Gun Registration in the past, you can never count on ANY Republican who refuses to go on the record.

That is why we are here to get EVERY candidate on record, regardless of their party affiliation. And we will never compromise.

It’s official.

Constitutional Carry is dead for the 2019 legislative session.

Even though Speaker Dennis Bonnen declared Constitutional Carry dead weeks ago, he alone had the power to advance HB 357 up until yesterday — yet he refused to do so.

After Speaker Bonnen threw a public temper tantrum in the media last month — revealing his long held opposition to Constitutional Carry — he finally made good on his word to kill HB 357 by using legislative deadlines.

But we knew this was coming.

In fact, we’re already planning to make our presence felt in the 2020 primaries — and come back stronger than ever for the 2021 session.

To show your support for this fight, please sign your Constitutional Carry petition and then consider chipping in $10 or $20 to help fund it!

Even though there are a few weeks left before the legislature officially adjourns, one thing is certain: politicians in Austin have FAILED gun rights activists yet again.

And if you’ve been following my e-mail updates, Speaker Bonnen allowed gun control bills to be scheduled on the House floor for a vote…while Constitutional Carry languished in committee.

Thanks to your pressure, pro-gun Texans were able to stop those bills in their tracks by using the same legislative deadlines Bonnen used to kill Constitutional Carry.

And with your support, we successfully exposed Speaker Bonnen as a wolf masquerading in pro-gun sheep’s clothing.

But I won’t sugarcoat it: we’ve got an uphill battle in Texas moving forward.

The only way we’re going to enact meaningful gun policy in Texas is to continue FORCING anti-gun politicians out of the shadows by making them go on record for pro-gun bills like Constitutional Carry.

That’s why Texas Gun Rights will not relent in its efforts to get a recorded vote.

This vote will separate the fake “pro-gun” politicians from the true Second Amendment champions.

After all, so-called “pro-Second Amendment” Republicans played a big role in killing Constitutional Carry in 2015 and 2017.

Thanks to the cowardice of weak-kneed Republicans — refusing to stand up to Speaker Bonnen — yet another year passes in Texas without getting a recorded vote on Constitutional Carry.

And like a dagger to the heart, Speaker Bonnen used legislative deadlines to kill Constitutional Carry in 2019.

You can bet Speaker Bonnen and his lackeys will continue trying to kill Constitutional Carry in future sessions, too.

That’s why it’s so important to sign your petition to continue putting pressure on your elected officials to support Constitutional Carry.

Chris, we believe that politicians should work for us, not the other way around.

That means they MUST go on the record on legislation that grassroots activists strongly demand like Constitutional Carry.

These votes will show pro-gun Texans who stands with them and who is in league with gun grabbers like billionaire anti-gun activist Michael Bloomberg.

Thanks to you, Constitutional Carry is at the front and center of public discussion.

And we can use this momentum going forward to continue our push to restore gun rights in Texas.
